Try our Coffee, locally blended and roasted by iconic Wellington’s Brand Coffee Supreme and you’ll never go back. The MF team are passionate (bordering on fanatical) about great coffee. Contrary to popular belief, we believe that it’s mostly coffee that keeps the world turning. Chocolate connoisseur? Try our wonderful, Spanish hot chocolate, it’s divine! THE BURRITOS (Available from 11 am) 

Tinga: Chicken cooked with chipotle, tomato and orange; with red rice, beans, cheese, in a 10″ flour tortilla garnished with red salsa & sour cream

Aztec: Guajillo braised beef wrapped with red rice, beans, cheese, in a 10″ flour tortilla garnished with red salsa & sour cream

Puerco: Pork loin marinated in spices for 8 hours and cooked for another 8, combined with red rice, beans, cheese, in a 10″ flour tortilla garnished with red salsa & sour cream

Vegetariano: Rosemary roasted mushrooms and caramelized onions with red rice, beans, cheese, in a 10″ flour tortilla garnished with red salsa & sour cream

Baja style: Battered Fish-of-the-day, with buttery white rice, home-made coleslaw, jalapenos & chipotle home-made mayo

Birria: Achiote Marinated goat shoulder, green rice, beans with lime pickled raddish and onions

Escabeche: Home-made pickle vegetables, green rice, beans, cheese garnished with sour cream and tomatillo salsa.

About Us

We decided to open Mexican Fusion because we love Mexican food, but we’ve noticed a lack of Mexican food that uses the available ingredients optimally and caters for all palates. We noticed that many restaurants and cafes have the idea that Mexican food is simply very hot sauce and beans? We think it’s sad that such a varied cuisine is stereotyped in such by narrow description … “HOT”.

Our food is traditional Mexican food that you can find in the streets and restaurants of little towns and big cities in Mexico. We make tasty Mexican food that is more flavorsome than it is spicy (though there is definitely the spicy/hot option available at MF) and will leave you wanting more. It’s fresh it’s fun and we think you’ll find it deliciously moorish!

We provide a product that is not only fresh and tasty but totally affordable and that’s the way we aim to keep it. Value for money with more variety.

We also offer a Mexican fusion option in some dishes that food is half Mexican / half kiwi favourite, like our sweet chilli prawn soft tacos or chicken and cranberry quesadillas.  Our aim is to have something for everyone, – local favourite recipes with a Mexican twist.

Our menu is gluten free as our tortillas are made with corn flour. Except for the burritos that use the traditional big tortilla made of white flour.

The team at MF are dedicated and highly experienced hospitality people. We call ourselves foodies and coffee snobs. Our goal is to provide value for money while providing a premium customer service experience.
